Key Competencies.

Term 1

CONNECTED - Relating to Others: contribute as a group member, to make connections with others, interacting effectively with a diverse range of people in a variety of contexts, listen, recognise different points of view, negotiate, and share ideas and aware of how actions and words affect others.

CONFIDENT - Managing Self: manage themselves, resourceful, reliable, and resilient, have self-motivation, set high standards, have strategies for meeting challenges, value own identity and readily express their point of view.


CREATIVITY - Using Language, Symbols & Text
Students will use symbols and text to make sense of and find meaning in traditional Maori art and games. They will show creativity through creating their own pieces of art that combine knowledge and unique style.


Term 2

CONNECTED - Participating and Contributing: communicate respectfully with others using a variety of media, confidently share thoughts and ideas, encourage others to share their thoughts and ideas and can sensitively accept differing points of view.


CONFIDENT - Managing Self: manage themselves, resourceful, reliable, and resilient, have self-motivation, set high standards, have strategies for meeting challenges, value own identity and readily express their point of view.

CREATIVITY - Using Language, Symbols & Text
Students will use symbols and text to create persuasive texts to market their products. Students will be able to create a persuasive piece of writing to express a particular viewpoint giving reasons to back up their ideas.
